Many people are wondering if 25mm spacers are safe. In fact, wheel spacers are safe whether for street driving or track driving. It seems that 25mm spacers work better than most others. Because the 25mm spacers come with two sets of bolts. The spacer bolts directly to your hub and then the wheel is secured directly to your spacer. This effectively ensures a full thread engagement, no need for any extended wheel bolts. However, not every car is suitable to use 25mm wheel spacers. The thickness of the spacers is determined by the wheel gap (the distance from the outer tire edge to the fender line). If the gap is less than 25mm, then 25mm spacers may make your wheels hit the inner arches when operating a U-turn. So long as you stick with reputable forged Aluminum wheel spacers and have the proper size, you will not have a problem.

Before installing 25mm wheel spacers, there are a few precautions you should know:
- Installing 25mm wheel spacers is a very popular and SAFE fitment for stance cars. Due to the geometry of the suspension, if the wheel is moved upwards, its “arcs” inward at the top of the wheel and will clear the fender well. This is more obvious when the car is lowered. It’s the whole reason why more negative camber is introduced when the car is lowered.
- These spacers are designed to create more clearance and correct the offset for wheels. If your OEM wheel is “+56 offset”, and added a 25mm spacer, then the wheel offset will be +31. Hence, wheel spacers are actually components that reduce wheel offset.
- Make sure they are not too much for your vehicle. If you have a straight edge metal ruler, place the straight edge on the outermost part of the rims where the wheel comes closest to the fender (preferably the top), then, measure from the outside wheel to the straight edge. This distance is the size spacer you will need to achieve the look that flushes or nearly flushes with the fender. If the result is far less than 25mm (about 1 inch), then change to thinner wheel spacers.
After installing 25mm wheel spacers your car will look great with flushed wheels. By pushing the wheels further away from the vehicle hub, they increase the track width, hence reducing body roll. This helps improve your tires’ lateral grip. The tires are more evenly loaded, which leads to better handling of the car and faster acceleration coming out of a corner. Aesthetically, by adding the proper amount of extra space between the rim and the wheel hub, the wheels will stick out to flush the fenders, giving your car a more sporty and fiercer look. All of these benefits come without changing the wheel and tire size. The most ingenious thing about 25mm spacers is that they allow you to safely fit wider tires on your existing wheels or upgrade to bigger wheels without rubbing against the frame, axle, or other suspension components. This, of course, improves traction and handling even more.
